At Ear Works Audiology, we understand that when you hear better, you live better. That’s why we provide comprehensive hearing evaluations and work with you to find the best hearing aid for your needs. We don’t just sell hearing aids; we provide solutions to help you hear well and maintain healthy hearing.
Our hearing specialists are experts in the latest hearing technology. We carry a large selection of different hearing aids for sale, including Bluetooth hearing aids, rechargeable devices, and instruments with artificial intelligence.
How to Choose the Right Hearing Aid
The hearing aids we carry are prescription medical devices regulated by the FDA. These hearing aids are professionally fine-tuned to fit your unique hearing needs based off the results of your audiogram. Prescription hearing aids can only be prescribed by a hearing care provider, such as the audiologists at Ear Works Audiology.
A new model of hearing devices have become available for purchase at retailers: over-the-counter (OTC) hearing aids. These devices do not require a prescription and are self-fit. We do not sell OTC hearing aids at our offices. These types of devices are not programmed to your unique hearing needs. To determine what device would best help you, the first step is a hearing test. At Ear Works Audiology, we provide diagnostic hearing tests, hearing aid services, and ongoing support. Contact us today to schedule a hearing test and discover custom solutions that can help you hear better.
TYPES OF HEARING AIDS
We carry hearing aids in a variety of styles and colors, including the following:
Receiver-in-Canal (RIC) hearing aids are reliable and convenient. These have a lightweight feel to them and a flexible fit.
Completely-in-Canal (CIC) hearing aids are sleek and subtle. This technology is molded to the unique contours of your ear for a superior fit that offers a natural look and hearing experience.
In-the-Ear (ITE) hearing aids are custom molded for you. They are powerful and comfortable, allowing for all-day use.
Open BTE are behind-the-ear devices that have an open fit. This type of hearing aid provides amplification via a small tube inserted into the ear canal.
Behind-the-Ear (BTE) hearing aids put you in control with customizable fit options, wireless connectivity, and easy volume control.
In-the-Canal (ITC) hearing aids are discreet and have a glasses-friendly fit with external controls.
Invisible-In-the-Canal (IIC) hearing aids are the smallest hearing instrument available. These are for people who want ultimate discretion while benefiting from the natural acoustics of the external ear.

Hearing Aid Troubleshooting Checklist
If you are experiencing weak sound, internal noise, distortion, whistling, or complete loss of sound from your hearing aids, there are a few steps you can take at home to problem-solve.
Control Settings:
- The hearing aid is on and set to the microphone
- Volume is set appropriately
Battery:
- The correct size is used and the battery door is closed completely
- Battery placed correctly (+ flat side up)
- Check if the battery is dead
- Check for corroded battery
- Try a new battery
- Adequate contact of components with the battery
Cerumen:
- Clogged receiver – ITE, ITC, CIC
- Remove wax with a wire loop or a small brush
- Be careful not to push wax deeper into the receiver area, which would require repair to remove
- Clogged earmold – BTE
- Clean with a wire loop or small brush or clean the earmold with soapy water and dry thoroughly
Earmold:
- Make sure the hearing aid or earmold has proper placement to reduce feedback
Moisture:
- Moisture in the hearing aid can cause damage to the internal circuitry. If damaged, the hearing aid may have to be sent to the manufacturer for repairs
If these tips for troubleshooting do not correct any issues with your hearing aids, please contact us.
