WHAT CAUSES TINNITUS?
Tinnitus can be caused by a variety of factors, some of which you can’t control, such as simply aging.
Tinnitus has also been associated with ear infections, earwax and sensory nerve disorders. Stress, high blood pressure, and even alcohol use can potentially also cause tinnitus.
Most often, though, tinnitus is caused by repeated exposure to excessively loud noise.
WHERE DOES RINGING IN THE EAR COME FROM?
The sounds you hear when you have tinnitus are generated by your brain.
Most people who suffer from tinnitus have some form of hearing loss. And when you have hearing loss, your brain sometimes overcompensates by creating its own background noise, so to speak.
Some forms of tinnitus can also be related to muscle movements near the ear, or problems with blood flow in the face or neck. On its own, however, tinnitus is not a sign of a serious medical problem.
No two people are the same when it comes to need and preference. The same goes for when selecting the right hearing aid.
For many hearing aid users, visibility is an important factor.
No matter if you choose a hearing aid that sits behind the ear or one that sits in the ear, modern hearing aids looks very different from the big, beige and whistling bananas you might remember your grandfather wearing.
They are tiny sophisticated computers in an elegant and discreet casing.
Your hearing care professional will help you to make the right choice for you.
After the hearing test, your hearing care professional will interview you about your needs, preferences and requirements when it comes to your hearing and your hearing aid.
The purpose is to find the right hearing aid solution to match your lifestyle and what is most important to you to hear.
All this to give you the best possible hearing in all the many listening environments you face in your daily life.
